Scrap Platinum

Scrap Platinum Refiners – Market Leading prices for Platinum

Best UK prices for Hallmarked Jewellery Platinum & Industrial Platinum.

Latest Scrap Platinum Prices

Platinum Prices change daily in line with the markets. Hallmarked Platinum will be purchased live. The price received for Platinum requiring a melt and assay will be the price on the day results are received. Prices are based as a percentage of the LPPM (London Platinum & Palladium Market AM fix).

Sell Hallmarked Platinum

Most Jewellery Platinum has a hallmark and in the UK, typically has a purity of 95% pure. As such, you should choose 950 Platinum in the calculator. Hallmarked platinum can be valued within seconds and as such, we can make payment to you using the same processes as selling your gold.

Scrap Industrial Platinum (no hallmark)

Industrial Platinum e.g. crucibles or thermocouples vary in purity. Please choose 999 Platinum and if you know the purity, e.g. 90%, then we will pay you 90% of the 999 price.

Most industrial platinum metals do not have a hallmark. As such, it may be necessary to have a melt and assay performed to determine the exact purity.

Platinum Refining turnaround times

Platinum Refining will take up to 1 week to obtain results. For Platinum / Rhodium Thermocouple wire, it may take up to 3 weeks for results of the melt and assay.

Some dealers are claiming to be able to make instant payment for non-hallmarked scrap platinum. This is an extremely expensive, dangerous and specialised process – typical jewellers and gold buyers will not be in a position where they can purchase industrial platinum for the simple reason that to melt it requires special furnaces, to test it requires at least £20,000 of testing equipment, not to mention the dangerous chemicals used to refine it.
