Scrap Platinum

Most Jewellery Platinum is 95% pure. As such, you should choose 950 Platinum in the calculator.

Industrial Platinum e.g. crucibles or thermocouples tend to vary in purity. Please choose 999 Platinum and if you know the purity, e.g. 90%, then we will pay you 90% of the 999 price.

Process for selling scrap platinum

Much the same as the process for selling scrap gold however if the platinum is not hallmarked, we may not be able to make payment for within the week. Please see section about testing purity.

Testing scrap platinum purity

Most industrial platinum metals do not have a hallmark. As such, it may be necessary to have a melt and assay performed to determine the exact purity. Please note that this can take around 1 week to obtain the results. Falkos may be able to make a part payment for the platinum, but will not be able to settle payment in full until results of the melt and assay have been received.
